How do you review a book like The Names of God? Lee Ann Rubsam gathered the verses she used to develop this book into a listing of the names of God found in the Bible. One can’t really critique the Words of God because they might find themselves opposing the Creator of the Universe. That is the beauty of this little book. It is mostly straight from the Bible. The service that Lee Ann renders for us is organization. If you are looking for a particular name of God and where it is found, this book will provide the answer. The names are listed alphabetically with a verse that uses that name. Lee Ann has done the arduous work so the reader can enjoy having the names of God at their fingertips.
Lee Ann Rubsam has compiled an alphabetical listing of all the names used for God (God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit) in her little resource appropriately named The Names of God. This is not only an easy-to-understand book, but it also inspires the reader. Reading the names of God lifts the spirit and bestows grace and encouragement. This book can be used as a starting point for a deeper study of God’s names. It can be used to encourage the reader by taking one name every day and meditating on that name. Lee Ann structures the book by introducing the names of God, then sharing the list of names broken down into four categories: 1) the names of God, 2) a few Hebrew names for God, 3) the “I Am” names of God, and 4) the “Who” names of God. This book will not only delight the reader but will also help the reader grow in their faith.
