The Missing Motive is an engaging mystery set in Perceptions High School, situated in the economically challenged Sector 3 of Picture Cay. Principal Tyler Chase, a tenacious leader, has worked tirelessly to transform the school into a beacon of hope for the community. However, his efforts are thrown into chaos when a series of unsettling events occur. From a brutal attack on his trusted assistant, Monica Shelby, to damaging rumors aimed at undermining the school’s reputation, Tyler's determination is put to the ultimate test as he races to uncover the truth. This story explores themes of leadership, integrity, and resilience, drawing readers into Tyler's journey as he faces challenges to protect his school and the people who rely on it.

I was impressed by Lucille Skelton's writing. The plot is not only engaging but also layered, filled with twists that keep the suspense going. I liked how the pacing was structured, starting with a steady buildup of the school’s transformation before escalating the tension with each new incident. The action flows seamlessly, balancing moments of high stakes with periods of investigation and introspection. The rising action culminates in a satisfying conclusion. The identities of the perpetrators took me by surprise. Lucille makes the characters believable, particularly Tyler, whose ethical leadership and unwavering resolve make him a compelling protagonist. The themes of community, resilience, and the victory of integrity are skillfully interwoven throughout the narrative. The detailed descriptions in the early chapters enrich the setting and deepen the overall story. For anyone who appreciates a thoughtful, character-driven mystery filled with meaningful lessons, The Missing Motive is a must-read.
