Abigail Keam has written a fantastic tale of love, adultery, family struggles, and the legend of a magical mermaid - yes, a mermaid. Piper Hathaway discovers that her husband, Joel, is having an affair, so she tries a last ditch effort to save her marriage by planning a Christmas holiday for her family in the Florida Keys. Their pre-teen children are out of control, and Joel has a nasty habit of projecting his anger and frustration at Piper while avoiding being a father. Piper has to learn to take a stand for herself and her children, but how she goes about it is quite surprising to everyone involved.
