Author Biography

Enthralled with legends of medieval knights and ladies, dark fairy tales and fantasies about Druids, wizards and magic, Jennifer Ivy Walker always dreamed of becoming a writer. She fell in love with French in junior high school, continuing her study of the language throughout college, eventually becoming a high school teacher and college professor of French.

As a high school teacher, she took her students every year to the annual French competition, where they performed a play she had written, "Yseult la Belle et Tristan la Bête"--an imaginative blend of the medieval French legend of "Tristan et Yseult" and the fairy tale "Beauty and the Beast", enhanced with fantasy elements of a Celtic fairy and a wicked witch.

Her debut novel, "The Wild Rose and the Sea Raven"--the first of a trilogy-- is a blend of her love for medieval legends, the romantic French language, and paranormal fantasy. It is a retelling of the medieval French romance of "Tristan et Yseult", interwoven with Arthurian myth, dark fairy tales from the enchanted Forest of Brocéliande, and otherworldly elements such as Avalonian Elves, Druids, forest fairies and magic.

Explore her realm of Medieval French Fantasy. She hopes her novels will enchant you.

The Lady of the Mirrored Lake is a work of fiction in the paranormal, dark fantasy, and romance subgenres. It is best suited to mature readers owing to scenes of graphic sexual nature and the use of explicit language throughout. Penned by author Jennifer Ivy Walker, in this darkly thrilling retelling of the legend of Tristan and Isolde, we follow the warrior priestess Issylte through a dangerous and magical land. Our heroine’s life becomes complicated when she encounters Tristan and discovers a new quest at the fabled Mirrored Lake. Danger lurks around every corner for the couple in the murky forest, and they must rely on one another to survive it all.

Author Jennifer Ivy Walker has a tall order to deliver a superb middle volume in The Wild Rose and the Sea Raven trilogy, and boy does she deliver in this darkly delicious, passionate, and spellbinding tale of lovers caught up in a dangerous quest. Knowing the classic legends of Arthur and Tristan and Isolde, it was wonderful to see the storylines entwined in an original way that highlights new elements and potential for the characters that I’d never considered before, especially in the guise of Issylte and her empowering central role in the tale. I enjoyed the craftsmanship of the dialogue, which felt authentic enough to the medieval fantasy feel of the tale but was also accessible and modern in its humor and attitude. Overall, I would highly recommend The Lady of the Mirrored Lake to fans of exciting paranormal fiction with dark twists and passionate romance aplenty. An unmissable read for the genre.

Inspired by the medieval tale of Tristan and Iseult, The Lady of the Mirrored Lake is a fantasy romance novel by Jennifer Ivy Walker. Fleeing the clutches of the Black Widow Queen and grieving the loss of her former beloved Elf Ronan, healer and daughter to the late King Donchadh of Ireland, Issylte, and her two companions, the White Knight Lancelot and Sir Tristan of Lyonesse, arrive in Bretagne. There, Tristan is subjected to the wily charms of Princess Blanchine of Armorique. After becoming the priestess warrior of the tribe of Dana and Lady of the Mirrored Lake, Issylte must protect the sacred orb from falling into the hands of the evil wizard, Voldurk. But with the dwarf Frocin and Queen Morag aiding Voldurk, is Issylte and Tristan's love strong enough to prevail in the upcoming battle?

Jennifer Ivy Walker borrows elements from Celtic, French, and Arthurian mythology to tell an incredible tale of love, courage, sacrifice, and the everlasting fight between good and evil. The Lady of the Mirrored Lake will appeal to readers who enjoy medieval chivalric romances and to fantasy lovers alike. Walker's plotting is intricate, weaving together a large cast of characters seamlessly as they play their respective roles. Many of these characters have appeared in tales told throughout the centuries, but don't be surprised to discover some unique personalities in this story. Tristan and Issylte's relationship drives the narrative around which the story revolves. I thoroughly enjoyed the book and will recommend it to lovers of fantasy and romance.

Issylte is still on the run from her stepmother Queen Morag and allies, Frocin and Voldurk. She ran from Avalon to Bretagne with Sir Lancelot and Prince Tristan, who allegedly committed treason. Issylte also gained powerful allies through her gift of healing and the goodwill of fairies, druids, and beasts. Unfortunately, she can’t reclaim the throne of Ireland yet. The wicked wizard Voldurk remains her stepmother’s ally, and her mate, Tristan, must defeat him. However, Tristan needs the help of an orb hidden in one of the sacred waters of the Goddess. Voldurk is also looking for the item because it will make him invincible. It is survival of the fittest, and the dangers ahead are better imagined. Follow The Lady of the Mirrored Lake by Jennifer Ivy Walker for the entire story.

The Lady of the Mirrored Lake by Jennifer Ivy Walker is a captivating paranormal story. It features romance, royal politics, deception, magic, survival, betrayal, losses, and victories. I loved the world-building, the drama, and how Walker created fantasy settings from actual places like France, Ireland, and Britain. It was a pleasure to read this second installment because I enjoyed reading the first part and wanted more. The characters were unique and consistent, while the storyline was unpredictable. I also learned something from the affair between Ronan, Tristan, and Issylte. The one who loves you will protect you like Ronan. But the one who loves and believes in your ability will not only secure you; they will also teach you how to defend yourself in their absence, like Tristan. Also, the biggest blessing in life is the gift of good people by your side, which Issylte deserved. Jennifer Ivy Walker is a fantastic writer with a vivid imagination that captured me. I await the finale.

The Lady Of The Mirrored Lake is Jennifer Ivy Walker’s second book in The Wild Rose And Sea Raven series. Issylte travels with Tristan and Lancelot to his chateau, La Joyeuse Garde. Issylte assumes the identity of Lady Opale. Lancelot announces a celebration of his new guest in hopes of procuring allies to fight Voldurk and The Black Widow Queen. After the celebration, Issylte is brought to the Tribe of Dana. When she kills the dwarf, Malvon, she becomes the Priestess of the Mirrored Lake and is bonded to Tristan eternally. Meanwhile, Queen Morag has married Tristan’s uncle, King Marke. Voldruk has begun his search for the orb to make him invincible, using the dwarves to attack the Tribe of Dana. The fight between good and evil is just beginning.

Jennifer Ivy Walker’s book is full of magic and suspense. Tristan's love grows despite Issylte’s refusal as she mourns leaving Ronan. When Tristan starts training her, she accepts he is her destined mate. The childish nature of Princess Blanchine makes it easy to dislike her, especially when she tries to play subversive games to gain his attention. The amazing details describing the enchantments and various powers given to Issylte and Tristan convince me there isn’t anyone who could defeat them. Queen Morag's behavior disgusts me, especially as she takes multiple lovers. She doesn’t seem very powerful beyond her ability to seduce men. I was enchanted reading every page, as there was never a moment something significant could happen. The unpredictable events and revelations that unfold on every page made me envision the future battle. The end of this book offers perfect suspense for the sequel. I recommend The Lady Of The Mirrored Lake to anyone who enjoys a story full of magic, love, and revenge, filled with breathtaking scenery and impressive alliances.

The Lady of the Mirrored Lake by Jennifer Ivy Walker is a paranormal fantasy story, a new take on the story of Tristan and Isolde (Tristan et Yseult in French) combined with Arthurian myth and all the creatures you might have seen in the TV series, Merlin. This is the second book in the series, following the fate of Issylte as she runs from the Black Widow Queen. Issylte has to leave Avalon and she takes two of the best Celtic knights with her, both accused of something they didn’t do – treason. Heading to Bretagne, Issylte, a magical healer, heals a wolf and is given shapeshifting abilities in return. Settling in Broceliande with Tristan and Lancelot, Issylte becomes the Lady of the Mirrored Lake but must undertake a quest to discover what’s hidden beneath its glassy surface. This is just the beginning for Tristan and Issylte but can their combined power and passion help them win the day?

The Lady of the Mirrored Lake by Jennifer Ivy Walker is the second in The Wild Rose and Sea Raven series. If you like TV series like Merlin or Game of Thrones, you’ll love this. A magical paranormal tale filled with action and tension, this is an incredibly descriptive story with an adult theme, so it isn’t suitable for younger readers. The characters are really well developed, although you should read the first book to understand their backgrounds better. This is an unpredictable story, with plenty of twists and turns, and each page brings something new and exciting. The ending will leave you in suspense, desperate to read the next book in the series. If you love fantasy, romance, suspense, and magic, this series is for you.
