The Keepers by Aaron N. Knight is a dystopian fiction novel wherein secrets are revealed in the most shocking ways. Stephen Phillips (a journalist) and Alex Jamison (an archaeology professor) were researching OOPART when they made the most astonishing discovery. They found that the artifacts they were working on came from an advanced society much like the current time; however, it wasn’t possible. According to their research, this society existed before even the first human civilization existed. An encounter with a man named Anthony Joseph exposed them to new secrets and mysteries revolving around a secret organization called The Keepers. The Keepers could still be functioning and they might be after a recruit. Now Alex and Stephen have the opportunity to ask the new recruit to work with them so they could figure out what The Keepers were hiding.
The Keepers was a well-written thriller, one that had me sitting on the edge of my seat and holding my breath. Alex and Stephen made a very good team. They were smart, they had each other’s back and explored the mystery well. The pace was fast, the plot was exceptionally well-crafted and the characters were given ample opportunities to grow. The addition of Anthony and Sebastian proved to be turning points for the story. Aaron N. Knight brought in twists and turns and made sure the reader had enough substance to be invested in the story and keep on reading. To me, this book rivals The Da Vinci Code and that’s the highest praise I can give to the author. Such an enjoyable novel to read!
