The Judgement of Samuel Ashon by Jesse Gehring is a chilling thriller. Samuel Ashon, 17 years old, has just won a holiday by email. He isn’t sure about it but accepts and is sent five tickets. He opts to take his mother, who lives to pop pills, and some of his friends but none of them has a clue as to what they are about to face. When they arrive at the resort, which is strangely remote, they find there is no one to welcome them. But that’s nothing compared to what lies ahead on this mysterious, macabre journey. Drugs and complete chaos keep the guests going, but Samuel is about to see things he cannot explain, things that lead to revelations that will rock Samuel’s world.
The Judgement of Samuel Ashon by Jesse Gehring is a story that takes you on a rollercoaster ride. It has a unique plotline with many twists and turns that keep you on your toes and guessing all the way through. It starts off on a lighter tone but, as each chapter passes, the story gets deeper and darker, the descriptions more graphic, and the secrets and revelations wilder. The characters are fantastically developed, and by the end of it, you know each one of them deeply – whether you want to or not! I guarantee that you will spend a good deal of the book wondering if Samuel has had a dream while fueled up on drugs, or if it really did happen. A vein of humor runs through the story, albeit a dark one at times, but the whole plot is pulled together neatly at the end with one last twist that you won’t see coming. The Judgement of Samuel Ashon is an easy read, perfect for fans of horrors with a unique spin.
