The Misfits must come to terms with sharing the spotlight, albeit to a lesser extent, with their counterparts from the magical world of Carnt. The members of the Silent Legion have taken to Earth with enthusiasm as some attempt to carve out a name for themselves with the people. The Misfits do not realize that their attempts to close the portals opening up around their home on Earth have created an even bigger problem for them in the form of a seemingly indestructible ancient magical lifeform. Will they save their home world, or will their pursuits lead to their downfall? Only time will tell in Aaron Frale's The Gladiator Journalist And Other Murderous Flora.
The Gladiator Journalist And Other Murderous Flora is the third book in the Misfits of Carnt series by Aaron Frale. The action starts on the first page, continuing the young heroes' unusual battles, which will appeal to ardent followers of the series, whose trademark is nonstop activity. To familiarize new readers with the general plot, Frale subtly references the earlier adventures in the series. His storytelling style alternates between detailed, humorous, and laid-back. Character development is deep; some heroes confront the morality of their past deeds, while others become embroiled in difficult romantic circumstances. Frale allows readers to immerse themselves in their favorite characters' lives to better understand their motivations. The banter is quintessential Frale fare—humor tinged with gravity while discreetly dropping hints crucial to the adventure's resolution. Frale fuses recent pop culture with a classic fantasy adventure that features spellcasting and mages. I enjoyed reading this unique novel and look forward to the next installment in the series.
