The Gathering of One by Reverend Joie Barry is an eye-opener. Whether we are aware of it, we are constantly walking toward the light. How can our daily deeds contribute to our journey from light to faith to truth? What we criticize in others reflects our weaknesses; making peace with one's past and experiences is important. First, forgive yourself, then practice forgiveness with others. Reverend Joie rightly says our bodies need rest and play; otherwise, we might not be as productive as we wish. Finding one's strengths and limits is also important, not only in the spiritual journey but also in our daily activities.
The Gathering of One by Reverend Joie Barry contains a wealth of information, and the reader will not only find the book a spiritual guide but also a library, as Barry has gone the extra mile to provide additional resources and websites where one can find more information about a variety of subjects. I also loved how Barry provides questions at the end of every chapter. These serve as helpful guides for the reader and provoke deep thoughts about various topics. Another admirable quality of The Gathering is how practical the book is. Applying the principles espoused by the book in daily life is easy. For instance, I loved spiritual laws, particularly the law of attraction, which emphasizes how our minds effect other outcomes.
