I must admit, I am a part of that demographic that the NFL seems to be highly covetous of. The focus of many marketing dollars, special colored jerseys, even encouraging the league to recognize breast cancer awareness month in October of every year by having players sport hot pink accessories to their manly uniforms; yes, I am one of the growing numbers of female football fans. But I’m not a new convert, I’ve been following football since I was a little girl sitting on my living room floor at my dad’s feet, peppering him with questions about the fundamentals of the game, stats, and the players themselves. So when I saw The Future of Football by Czonko Bezrski, Jr., I just knew I had to pick it up.
Giving the reader an authentic insider’s view into football's past, present and future, The Future of Football does a complete and thorough job of describing the evolution of the quarterback. From a once relatively stationary and pass-heavy position, author Bezrski describes the need for the person in the quarterback position to become a multi-threat player, able to run, hustle, and pretty much do anything he can to lead the team and win the game.
I found this book to be highly enjoyable, a quick read full of personal experiences and enough insider information that I often felt like I was right on the field with the team. The Future of Football is a book that would be enjoyed by anyone who loves football or would like to get a better understanding of the direction the game may being going, whether the reader is male or female. I recommend this book, and look forward to seeing what author Czonko Bezrski, Jr. has in store for his readers next.
