Pilate tried to read meaning in their flight, but the birds were too erratic, too unsure —too many." Right from the opening pages, the reader is intrigued by the Devil whispering into a man "who twitched and stirred within a dream." This caught my attention and I was keen on seeing what becomes of this man and his relationship with the Devil. The Devil's Angel is a real thrill for readers.

The story starts back in Roman times before moving to the present day, to the two cops who could change the fate of the world. It reminded me a little bit of Supernatural, as the two leads are as close as brothers. The main themes touch on destiny and who people are born to be and can they overcome that, or should they just surrender to it?

John F Conn has written an interesting and epic tale with The Devil's Angel. The two main characters were well written and I enjoyed the story. The dialogue was believable and the two leads had a good camaraderie between them. The Devil's Angel jumps straight into the action too, which I prefer. I liked how the story turned out. It moved at a decent pace and I think it would do well on the market. I think that it is different enough to what is currently available now in this genre. Many supernatural books tend to focus on supernatural beings like werewolves and vampires. Delving into the Bible, taking a fresh look at the story and coming up with a unique spin on it will help this book stand out from the rest. I would definitely recommend The Devil's Angel.
