The Deep Tunnel by Adam Alexander is the second book in the Andromeda Brown series. One alien invasion has been stopped and now it's back to school for Andromeda and her friends. But it's not over yet. After Andromeda learns of someone who died in the sewers, she and her friends know this is proof that the Kulrada is on Earth. The invasion gets closer to home when she discovers her new nanny is, in fact, a Kulrada robot. The threat of the Kulrada keeps growing stronger but with a Kulrada in her own home, Andromeda can only bide her time for her and her friends to form a plan to stop the next invasion before it's too late.
Just as the kids think they can get back to their normal lives and worry about things like school, their enemies have returned and are hiding in plain sight. Adam Alexander effectively builds up suspense in this next adventure for Andromeda and her friends, setting up the impending invasion with deaths and disappearances down a tunnel. The style of hidden alien invasions is reminiscent of classic children's reads such as Animorphs where only a group of kids can stop an alien invasion while their families have no idea what's happening. Alexander weaves in eerie suspense through moments where the kids know they're facing a robot but their families don't. Events are focused around the Deep Tunnel which serves as the ideal setting for an alien invasion as it's eerie and dark, set up for hidden aliens.
The story is aimed at children but is a delightful adventure all ages can enjoy. This may not be the first time the kids have faced aliens but the threat is real and the danger is even higher. Though they're responsible for stopping an alien invasion, they still feel like kids, thanks to Alexander putting in details of the kids often in class with the alien invasion worked throughout and around their school days. The Deep Tunnel is the perfect read for those seeking a fun science fiction adventure with action, aliens, and kids who save Earth.
