You have become a published author: books, stories, and articles. How do you reach an audience and let the world know that you exist? That your writing is there to be shared and enjoyed? Everyone has been telling you to build a platform, set up a webpage, a blog, and communicate with your readers and potential readers. And, it’s an endless chore. But, have you also considered creating an email list and sending out regular newsletters. There are many ways of making this process work for you without annoying your potential readers by inundating their inboxes.
Author and social media/Wordpress consultant, Barb Drozdowich, has created a systematic guide to help new and seasoned authors find their audience and maintain an active and interesting connection with the outside world. The Complete Mailing List Toolkit is a collection of short books/ guides to help you, as the author suggests, “navigate the technical issues of self-publishing.” It is a box set of four books that cover strategies, MailChimp administering, email marketing and savvy newsletters (or as the fourth book title defines it, “Newsletters That Rock”). There is definitely power behind direct communication with potential readers. With this set of guides, the self-published author will be able to reach out to the great wide world of potential readers with ease. Using the idea of individual chap book-sized guides within a box set, the author has created a compact means of communicating with the reader, giving the author a more holistic approach to connecting with their readers. A great resource for all authors looking to expand their reading market.
