The Chronomancer and the Book of Worms is a work of fiction in the fantasy, dark paranormal, and magical drama sub-genres, and was penned by author Jason Jay Harrington. Written as the first book of the Destiny of the Void Triangle, this work is intended for mature teen readers and up, due to its dark and intensely exciting content. Settle into a world where an ancient evil waits to rise and reform in a more terrifying state than ever. We find ourselves in Malkanor, where society is run and ruined by the elites, but a young boy named Rylin is about to change everything with a power of which he doesn’t even know the full potential.
Author Jason Jay Harrington has crafted a chilling dark fantasy work that sets up a fantastic world, concept, and story for a continuing series. In this formative tale, we meet Rylin as a fourteen-year-old farm boy, and the commitment to his personal growth and emotional arc in the story is really exciting to behold. He discovers new powers and people, and the forbidden love story was well-paced and highly endearing to read. One of the other things which really impressed me about the work was its atmosphere, from the dialogue and parlance of the people through to the descriptive work in bringing the scenes to life in a highly cinematic way. Overall, I would certainly recommend The Chronomancer and the Book of Worms for fantasy fans seeking something that turns the genre up a notch: a masterful work of dark adventure and thrills.
