The Adventures of Reggie Mouse 1: The New Yoomans is written and illustrated by Jonnie Tash. Reggie and his friends watch a car pull up, and Yoomans, whom they don’t recognize, step out. They watch the Yoomans carefully but can’t seem to figure out exactly who they are or what they are doing in the forest. With all the chatter going on among them, they couldn’t figure out what the Yoomans wanted, so they decided to find someone who might understand more. They found their friend Laura, the smartest and most calm creature they knew. What do the new visitors want? Would Laura be able to figure it out?
The New Yoomans is an adorable children’s story that kids will love to read over and over again. The characters are quirky and interesting and will keep kids entertained as they read or have the story read to them. I love that this story sends a message to kids about the importance of questioning the unfamiliar and teaching them to find someone more knowledgeable to help find out more. The illustrations are wonderful representations of the story that will keep kids flipping pages to find out what happens next. I recommend The New Yoomans to small children who love an adventurous story, and I can’t wait to see what Jonnie Tash has in store for the next volume of The Adventures Of Reggie Mouse. This book is sure to be the one kids ask for again and again, especially when they are asking for just one more story.
