The Adventures of Patty-Cat, Kittle, and Friends with the Duchess of Manx by Barbara A. Cefalu is an enjoyable children's book about cats, namely Patty-Cat and Kittle, and their friends. They hear that the Duchess of Manx is coming to their town for the premier of a musical she's supporting. Their friends, Billy-Bom-Tom, Al, and Susie, are in the show, and everyone in town is excited. But with the Duchess coming to town, two amateur thieves make a plan to steal the Duchess's expensive jewelry. Will Patty-Cat and Kittle be able to stop the thieves?
I really enjoyed reading The Adventures of Patty-Cat, Kittle, and Friends with the Duchess of Manx by Barbara A. Cefalu. The book is full of action, and has many funny parts as well. The characters are all very likeable because they are smart, friendly, and kind. The characters all had distinct personalities and interests, for example, Patty-Cat likes painting and Kittle enjoys archaeology. I liked that all of the characters were cats. The names are all very creative, because they all have to do with cats, and some names are a play on words. The occasional pictures are very well drawn and depict each scene vividly. The pictures are also very colorful and I liked that the pictures show how the cats in the story walk on two feet, not four. I really enjoyed this book, and was hooked by the first page. I liked the way the book was written, because it has parts about each character. I would recommend this book to all young readers and cat lovers.
