In Melonie Carter's The Adventures Of Daisy and Bronson: A Weekend At Paradise Palace, we are introduced to two dogs by the names of Daisy and Bronson. They had a fun weekend, but it almost didn’t end up that way because the family at first didn’t want to take Daisy to the beach with them. The two dogs ended up being dropped off at a place where there were lots of other dogs and it made Daisy nervous. Bronson, however, was having a great time because he loved making new friends. A lady came to them and they found out this place was called Paradise Palace. Daisy just couldn’t imagine having a fun weekend without her humans. A tall nice lady, Tammy, who held Daisy took her into a room filled with doggy treats and toys. Soon she was playing with the other dogs and having a good time. She played with chew toys until bedtime. When she awoke the next morning, Tammy took them on a nice nature trail walk. Soon enough the visit was over and their family had come to take them back home.
I thought The Adventures Of Daisy and Bronson was a very adorable and interesting read. I always love reading animal stories and this one stood out as unique for me. I liked how the author tells the story of two dogs staying at a doggy daycare. You immediately fall in love with the sweet little Daisy and her wild brother Bronson. The two have different personalities but they both managed to have a great time. It’s a relatable story that children will be able to grasp. A lot of children go to daycare or are babysat by others away from home. It’s a nice take on how going to daycare can be exciting and fun. The illustrations are also beautifully done and go perfectly with the storyline. Melonie Carter has created a fun-filled read that kids will enjoy.
