Terrance Talks Travel: A Pocket Guide To Adventure Travel is a nonfiction travel book written by Terrance Zepke. The author defines adventure travel and discusses its growing popularity across the age and gender spectrum. Zepke even gives the reader an adventure travel quiz to help him/her determine just how adventurous a trip would be most enjoyable. She discusses those countries that are somewhat challenging to visit and makes a number of recommendations for countries and regions to explore. Zepke discusses cultural constraints and taboos where pertinent, and offers links to tour companies where available. Many travellers are constrained by their personal finances, and the author discusses the typical costs for adventure travel, how to budget, and any currency issues the traveler should be aware of. The appendix includes a glossary of adventure activities, and an extensive listing of tour operators for the adventures featured in the text with links to their websites.
Terrance Zepke's nonfiction travel guide, Terrance Talks Travel: A Pocket Guide To Adventure Travel, contains just about all the information you need to start planning your own adventure. The author breaks down the myriad details and things that you have to do to prepare for an adventure, including visas, inoculations and other health concerns, packing tips and budgeting, and somehow she makes it all seem eminently doable. Once she's finished with the preparations and other details, she presents a lifetime's worth of travel destinations complete with pictures, discussions of wildlife spotting opportunities, and adventures to be found at each location. I was pleased to see some of my own dream-destinations included in her list: Antarctica, the Himalayas and Greenland, and was deeply impressed by a number of the other adventure destinations she recommends, both abroad and here in the United States. Terrance Talks Travel: A Pocket Guide To Adventure Travel is a springboard to adventure given the means and imagination necessary to take the next step. The places are there for consideration, and the means are laid out clearly and distinctly. Terrance Talks Travel: A Pocket Guide To Adventure Travel is most highly recommended.
