He’s taken a nuclear reactor critical, piloted a destroyer, slept in the Omani desert, negotiated multi-million dollar acquisitions, run two companies, provided strategic and management consulting across the United States and traveled around the world in every hemisphere. He’s a plankowner on the aircraft carrier, USS Harry S Truman and has made a lifetime study of religious beliefs and mythology. Brian lives in Kansas City with his wife, two children, two dogs and a lizard. His first book, 'Tearing Down The Statues', was published in 2015.

Ancient beliefs and modern intrigues clash as times change and ruling factions look out for their own best interests in Tearing Down The Statues by Brian Bennudriti. In this, the first volume of the Salt Mystic, the Recorder, Misling, is sucked into the middle of earth shattering events after meeting an enigmatic young man who begins to follow him around. As a Recorder, Misling is expected to be an aloof observer of people and things to add to the permanent record of civilization, along with the information passed on to him by four previous Recorders. Misling has an unusual relationship with the flamboyant Farmilion, the man who chose Misling as his Recorder, and Ring, the strange young man with a lot more going on than he lets anyone know, so instead of just observing, he actively participates in the events that are shaping the world. In the midst of a world war and apparent manipulation by the Augur, the representative of the religion of the world, Misling wants to understand what is to come. Will there be a world left after the warring factions finish with their power struggle or is something else pulling everyone’s strings?
In almost cinematic scope, Brian Bennudriti portrays a vast world, populated by an amazing assortment of people, beasts, and war machines, that is subject to the ancient laws of the Salt Mystic. With exploits and emotions that combine the technology of Star Wars and the quest of The Hobbit, Tearing Down The Statues keeps you turning the pages and holding your breath while you experience this strange world as if you are in the middle of the intrigue. This is a tremendous story that needs to be read slowly for one to fully grasp the complexities that drive the characters and fully appreciate the vast wonders being exposed.
