I wanted to be a scientist and go into space. I got my B.A. from Columbia University in Mathematics and Astrophysics and I worked at NASA on the Pioneer Venus Project as a programmer. I received my masters from U.C. Berkeley in Education of Math, Science, and Technology and went on to earn my doctorate in education. Together with my husband and business partner, I conceive, design, and create products, ideas, websites, and exhibits. Along the way, I've learned how to write.

Julie, the main character of Suddenly, Paris: Many Worlds, One Life by Olga Werby, has to learn that nothing is as it seems in her life. Her real heritage is not what she thought it was, and the odd behavior of her grandmother becomes more and more concerning. A new family moves into the house - which is strange enough, too, as the landlord never wanted additional people in his house. In addition, Julie has to struggle with her conscience as she had kissed her best friend's boyfriend, and then an accident makes life even harder. Julie finds out that her new housemates are actually an alien species whose home world has been destroyed. She learns that her own world is in danger, and that even humans might not be what they actually think they are.
I have to admit that after reading Suddenly, Paris by Olga Werby, I immediately checked whether there were more books by the same author - and I picked up a few. I was surprised by how different the various stories were, but the writing style drew me into each of the novels. This one, however, was the one I liked best because it's more my kind of genre. I enjoyed how the different characters interacted, and the idea of Paris and his/her people is really interesting. I can't give away who Paris is, but it's such an unusual development, I really loved it. And these days, you don't get many unusual and fresh stories that often. I would definitely recommend this book to people who love fantasy, science fiction, and coming of age stories mixed into one exciting adventure. Also check out the sequel, and other books by the same author - you won't regret it! The plot of this novel is fantastic; you have to read it!
