Love is not real. It's a myth fabricated by a hurting world. Rona knows this. She knows it has to be true. But after an encounter with an immortal god, Rona is appointed as the savior of true love. Being the savior of something you don't believe in is no easy task. She deeply believes she will forever fail her mission until one night she sees him: a past love that she can't help but feel something for. But there's one problem. He has no memory of her. How can she be in love with someone who does not know her? But how can she just move on and roam the earth alone forever? In Stay by Jennifer Silverwood, it's love vs time and it's a dangerous game. And the odds are not good.
Jennifer Silverwood has touched upon a very popular genre in her novel, Stay. Fantasy/Paranormal Romance dominates the Young Adult world. In such a crowded genre, it's difficult to stand apart and bring anything new to the table. But Silverwood accomplishes this and more. This story takes the unique aspects of mythology that other writers often pass by. She mixes that with a heroine who doesn't daydream about love 24/7 (I've seen too much of that) and then weaves this into a plot that pulls you along. And you follow along easily. Many teens will fall in love with Rona slowly but surely as they see the new side of teen romance: it's not always happily ever after.
