Souvenirs of Suffering: A Child's Memoir of Surviving Cancer by Dazhoni Green is a heartrending and courageous story of a child overcoming brain cancer, and her journey through the disease with the support of her family, friends, teachers, hospital staff, camp counselors, and countless others who extended their loving hands. This memoir is about gratitude, faith, empathy, and facing the illness before and after surgery. Written from the child's point of view, this memoir will keep readers inspired and make them understand how precious life is. The author's messages of having a new perspective on life, not taking anything for granted, and developing a heart that cares deeply for others, even for those she hardly knows, are uplifting and encouraging and will give readers many reasons to appreciate life.
The book is a reminder of what the author had gone through or 'souvenirs' as she has named them.
