Snow Island: Chronicles of a Wererabbit, Book Three is a paranormal action thriller written by M.Y. Zeman. Snow and her extended family's trip up to Alaska had been a success in that they had destroyed Victoria's laboratory where she had been working on a serum to affect the shifting abilities of werewolves, but they had not been able to find and free all of the werewolves, sand tigers and other animals that had been captured and used in Victoria's experiments. Dad, Edgar and David had exhausted all their sources trying to locate them, but to no avail. Josh, Snow's best friend, had been traumatized by his own experiences at Victoria's hands. He still dreamed about it and believed he may have been in Alaska before, but he couldn't give any further insights into the situation nor could he recall how he had originally gotten from his native Canada to to the laboratory in New York. Edgar suggested a vacation in Florida to allow them all a bit of relaxation and a break from the New York winter. Snow wasn't all that sure at first, but the weather and companionship soon had everyone enjoying their sunny and warm vacation break. Back home again, Snow and Josh settled back into their schooling, Snow building a bot as part of her programming training and Josh helping Edgar craft gourmet meals. Then, one night, Josh had a breakthrough in the form of an awful dream that had him reliving the worst of his experiences in the lab, and he remembered something very important. He knew they had to find the Isla de Nunca.
M.Y. Zeman's paranormal thriller, Snow Island: Chronicles of a Wererabbit, Book Three, is an action-packed adventure tale that kept me on the edge of my seat. Snow Island can be read on its own, but I strongly recommend reading each of the books in this remarkable and original series in order. Watching as Snow grows from a small white bunny rescued from a lab by her vampire-genius father, comes of age, and now sets out to rescue endangered animals held captive by the evil Victoria is a treat. Zeman's story is first-rate, and, at times, marvelously droll and funny. Snow's AI-enhanced motorcycle, Thumper, has an onboard computer called the Captain, whose voice is that of Star Trek: Next Generation's Captain Jean-Luc Picard, and the conversations Snow has with her Captain are priceless. Chronicles of a Wererabbit is a modern classic that should not be missed. This decidedly different and fabulous shifter action fantasy novel is most highly recommended.
