Are you ready for oodles of words that rhyme with noodles? In Steven Joseph's new book, Snoodles, Kidoodles, Poodles and lots and lots of Noodles that is exactly what you will get. This imaginative story takes place in the future when cars are no longer running on stinky sauerkraut but are running on noodles. The snoodlemobile, invented by Herbie Snoodleman, not only has made the world smell and look better but has also created a new way to cook your noodle dinner! There is only one person unhappy with this new mode of transportation; Sour Croodleman whose Krautmobile is no longer a popular vehicle. Will Sour Croodleman exact revenge on the noodle-loving world?

Snoodles, Kidoodles, Poodles, and lots and lots of Noodles is a word lover's delight. Steven Joseph has created a fun world that kids will dive right into. The illustrations by Andy Case bring the story to life. There are so many fun touches, from the newspaper headlines to the pictures of alternative food-powered vehicles. Kids and adults will get a kick out of discovering new details each time they read the story. Joseph's story is like a good old-fashioned bedtime story with the bonus of having great pictures to go with it. Snoodles, Kidoodles, Poodles, and lots and lots of Noodles would be fun to pair with another fantastical food story, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs. Get ready to have oodles and oodles of fun and maybe some noodles as you enjoy this book.

Snoodles, Kidoodles, Poodles, and Lots and Lots of Noodles is an adorable children's picture book about a future where cars run on various types of food, the latest and most successful one being noodles. Previously, cars had run on sauerkraut which was very smelly and no one liked. The person who invented the sauerkraut cars is so mad that the noodle cars took over that he goes and vandalizes a museum owned by the noodle car inventor with sauerkraut spray (of course). They have to hire an art restoration expert but he can't get the sauerkraut off to restore the painting. What will they do?

My kiddo thought this book was 100% hilarious. She wanted to imagine all of the different types of foods that cars might be able to run on and how delicious it would be to ride in those cars. Any book that she wants to read more than once is a winner in my opinion. There were some big words in this story that needed some extra explanation (e.g. vandalize, technological, etc.), but I think that's ok for young readers as long as you go slowly and then try to use the new words later throughout the day. The illustrations are fun and engaging, but I had to explain to my daughter that no, we probably can't get macaroni and cheese ice cream at the grocery store. I appreciated the little bit of environmentalism that was included in this story.
