Raj's precociousness and Daisy's parents' peculiar quirks created enjoyable comic relief and are perfect foils for the drama skimming just below the surface of the plot, keeping the story light, funny, and engaging. I especially enjoyed Raj and Daisy's mother, Moo/Madame Esmeralda, and their amusing antics. It is an enchanting novel that will entertain everyone who savors stories laced with laughter and romance.

Snakes and Lovers by Anne Lovett is a funny tale of love and mystery and it's one of those books that you won’t want to put down once you start reading it. It isn’t a long book but the story flows well and is action-packed all the way through. It reminded me a little of the Stephanie Plum books, with lots of laughs, love, and capers along the way, with a python and a dodgy jewel thief thrown in for good measure. The main characters are well developed, real people with real flaws and likable personalities. You will be rooting for Daisy and Raj and you’ll be mentally pushing her at Luke, urging her to do the right thing. It’s an easy read, a light-hearted story that will have you giggling in places.
