Finn and Jake are 9 and 13 year old brothers who set out to write a book with their dad 4 years ago! Now the two brothers have their own series, about a young character, Silver Hotrod who is cool but realizes along the way that he has a lot to learn.
The books are growing as Finn and Jake do, their story inspiring and encouraging other young kids to write too.
Silver Hotrod is joined as he learns, by new pals, Bronze Hotrod, Gold Hotrod and hot on their heels and about to pass them all is, Crystal Hotrod.
Their dad, Ray Ronan, helps with coordination, but these books, these stories are theirs, written by kids for kids.

Popcorn and a movie? It sounds like a great way to spend an evening. But alone? Silver Hotrod didn’t like the alone part. So, when he pulled into his driveway and saw a note, one that might be a challenge, he couldn’t resist the urge to meet the mysterious challengers at the old dirt track outside town. Silver Hotrod wasn’t sure about racing on a dirt track either. But, when he met his challengers, Bronze Hotrod and Gold Hotrod, he couldn’t resist.
Two amazing young writers, brothers Finn and Jake, are growing up along with their very popular hotrod series. Silver Hotrod: Bronze Silver and Gold: Written By Kids, For Kids, It’s Time To Follow The Clue From The End of Book Two takes young readers on a fun adventure that includes three hotrod challengers. The plot is well developed and the main characters, all hotrods, are quirky, clever, and full of energy – in other words, they love to race. The story is about more than racing and winning; it’s about the importance and value of friendship.
And, the series isn’t over yet, as this book (number 3 in the series) solves the mystery from the end of book 2. There is another mystery that will be solved in the next book, one that includes … you got it, another hotrod. I love the illustrations: bright, colorful, and with interesting bubble comments to accompany the story that flows on the facing page. These two brothers have a lot of talent and I hope they will continue with their writing/ illustrating partnership. After all, there’s no better friend than a sibling.
