She Inspired: A Collection of Inspirational Stories from Around the World by Darlene Batrowny begins with an account of a mother tasked with raising children as a newly-divorced single parent. She teaches her children how important it is to maintain family relationships with loved ones, even if they live far away. A young woman discovers she is pregnant. She wants to build her own business, thereby teaching her children that success often comes from passion, perseverance, and sacrifice. A young woman from the Dominican Republic begins to doubt her self-worth while searching for a decent job that allows her to maintain her health. This book will help readers realize that they are not alone and that problems or mistakes never reflect their self-worth. It is measured by how we use what we learn from our mistakes to thrive in the face of life’s challenges.
She Inspired by Darlene Batrowny includes tales describing the trials, errors, love, and determination women worldwide have faced. These short stories give testimony to a mother’s love and the sacrifices she will make to keep her family safe, happy, healthy, and well-adjusted. I love the way that these examples show how the women in each section may not always get it right, but they find a way to learn from their mistakes and bounce back even stronger. I recommend this collection to anyone who enjoys inspirational stories, and I hope that Batrowny has more like this.
