ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Doris H. Dancy is an accomplished and award winning educator, writer, speaker, playwright, novelist, and member of the Lambda Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha, Inc. She received her BA Degree in English and Spanish Education at North Carolina Central University in Durham, North Carolina, and her Master of Arts Degree in English Education from Hampton University in Hampton, Virginia. Dancy has been a Teacher of English, English Teacher Specialist, and English Curriculum Leader K-12 for Hampton City School Public Schools for many years.
After retirement, Dancy started her own writing consulting business, Pen To Paper Writing Consulting, LLC, which provides a consulting and editing service for Educational staff development and for freelance writers.
During her career, her awards have been numerous, but three that she is most proud of are The Virginia Outstanding Teacher of English, the National Award for Building Successful Readers, and The Outstanding Administrator in Virginia.
Mrs. Dancy is married to Mr. Willie Dancy, Jr. and they have two daughters, Monica Dancy-Hayes and Tara D. Abaya. Doris has three beautiful granddaughters: Cadence 12, Tali 10, and Zoey 5.

Shattered Pieces by Doris H. Dancy is a story about Zack. He has it all. Zach is successful, handsome, sexy, and exudes a charm that women can’t seem to resist. Jazmin, who is a successful artist in her own right, enters Zach’s life, but was warned by everyone about Zach and his charming ways that could hurt her in the end. For Zach, sex is a byproduct and a distraction to the nightmares and fears of his past. No one knows (especially the women) about Zach’s deep, dark secret that continues to haunt him. Zach hates to be alone because he is beginning to realize that his secret past is catching up with him. Not only are the dreams a reminder, but his brother, Chad, who is beginning to surface in Zach’s life again and blackmail him, is a constant reminder as well. How long can Zach keep up this charade? Will Chad expose Zach’s past? Will the women be enough to shield Zach from his fears? Will he be able to hide it from Jazmin or will she too fall under his spell and not see the truth?

Each chapter keeps you engaged and looking for the next bite as Zach goes from one woman to another, trying to cover up his fears, keep his brother at bay, and yet try to develop a relationship with Jazmin.
