Scratching the Seven-Month Itch (Amanda Moore or Less Book 1) by J.L. Salter is a contemporary romance about what happens when a group of friends decides a boyfriend is cheating. When Amanda and Jason hit the seven-month mark in their relationship, Amanda's friend Christine convinces her that Jason is cheating. Along with Christine, Amanda's friends, who spend their time using Amanda and Jason's love life as their own personal soap opera, decide to prove that Jason is cheating. And so begins the secret stalking, tailing, investigation, and stakeout that is part hilarious and part devious. But as more "evidence" turns up about Jason's infidelities, Amanda finds it harder to deny what Christine believes is the truth. Could Jason really have the seven-month itch? And what is Amanda going to do about it?
This is a really cute romance that is light hearted and full of humor and funny situations. The plot is full of surprises and is meant to keep the reader on their toes as they follow along and try to discover if the "clues" and the "evidence" are enough to convict Jason of infidelity. The characters are all very well written and come across as genuine people that the reader will root for. I found myself hoping that there was an explanation to Jason's weird behavior because I wanted him and Amanda to get their happy ending. I think readers will enjoy the ending as well as all of the twists and turns within this story.
