Scary Shorts: Flash Fiction is a collection of 25 flash fiction stories all based on Halloween. Barbara Venkataraman and the seven other authors who contributed their work to this book have done an amazing job at creating spooky and thought-provoking content. If you're a fan of flash fiction and just want a quick fix of the spooks, then this book is exactly what you need.
Scary Shorts: Flash Fiction is a book filled with creepy short stories that will either have you creeped out, laughing, or both. This book includes the work of eight authors who are extremely talented in writing flash fiction and I enjoyed every single story; my favorites were Paying The Piper and Grandpa's Trunk. Each of the authors featured in this book has a great imagination, for example, Paying The Piper by Barbara Venkataraman takes one simple, everyday object and turns it into your worst nightmare within a split second, causing the reader to feel the horror of it all.
All of the stories are fast-paced, eerie, and exactly 100 words. The front cover is simple yet hilarious; I loved the fact that the skeleton is wearing sandals. I felt sad once I'd completed the book because the stories were just so good that I found myself wanting more. So look no further in your search for something spooky. Grab a copy of Barbara Venkataraman's Scary Shorts: Flash Fiction because it will satisfy all your needs. Congrats to all the authors involved in creating this entertaining content; it was truly an enjoyable read.
