It feels as if Greffe has finally truly grasped the depths of the protagonist as more layers get added to Rye's character, and his relationship with Mama Reese is further explored. The plot is concise and tightly structured. The action sequences are realistic, and the scenes depicting the hostage situation full of tension and drama. I like the fact that despite this being the second book in the series, it also works as a standalone so that readers can enjoy it even if they have not read the prequel. Anyone who reads thrillers should love this one.

Finishing on a cliff hanger, it is a riveting story that leaves the reader wanting more and waiting on tenter-hooks for the sequel.

They terrify the hell out of him, but they have never led him astray. So, when Rye gets a vision of a woman dying, he knew there is nothing he can do about it. As always, he knows what will happen, but he does not know when and where it will happen, who she is, and how he can stop it. Is it even possible for Rye to stop her murder? Or will another person will die because he cannot help them?

Rye Nova: Between Flight and Fight is a far more fascinating and entertaining novel than I initially thought. It takes a lot of courage for what Rye does and, honestly, I was not expecting him to do anything. I love his reactions; how real they are and how human he is. The story itself is intricate and complex. There are layers that I loved to unfold. The narrative is smooth, it flows incredibly fluidly and it allows the reader to enjoy it. Rye is tough and so simple to understand. He wears his heart on his sleeve and that is very apparent to readers. The “villain” of the story is crafted to drive the story forward without being someone the reader will hate. You will feel empathy for the villain, but you will cheer Rye on. The race against time made me hold my breath and look forward to the conclusion. This is a fantastic story.
