Ribbit Rabbit is a children's picture book written by Sara Harsh with illustrations by Natalia Gubanova. It narrates the story of Ribbit Rabbit, a frog who acted like a rabbit in every way. He hopped around, nibbled on clover patches, and played in the meadow. Unfortunately, his rabbit friends made fun of him because he looked different. His green and spotty skin was unlike their furry coats, and instead of saying hello, he said, "Ribbit, ribbit, croak." Despite these differences, Ribbit Rabbit decided to show that he was just as good at hopping as they were. He challenged them to a race, and by the end of the day, he made new friends who appreciated and respected him. Come along with Ribbit Rabbit and see how he proves that differences do not matter when it comes to friendships.
Ribbit Rabbit is a delightful story with a profound lesson about embracing each other's differences. This message is vital for both children and adults. Instilling it in kids while they are developing can lead to a better future where people respect and understand each other. Unfortunately, Ribbit Rabbit had to prove himself in a race to be accepted and stop being laughed at, which should not be the case in reality. Everyone is special and deserves to be loved and embraced, no matter who they are, how they look, or where they come from. Sara Harsh does an excellent job of teaching these lessons in a fun and creative form that children will enjoy and relate to. The colorful illustrations complement the story and bring the characters to life. The warm colors give it a calm and happy feel. I enjoyed this book and highly recommend reading it with your children to teach them about making friends and accepting each other's differences.
