Regina and Renita and Their Hidden Crowns by Regina and Renita Deloatch is an educational picture book for young children. Sisters Regina and Renita wake up bright and early to set out on a day filled with fun and adventure with their friend London. The girls arrive at their local park and decide to race with London. It's a close call but London finishes first, then Renita, and then Regina. Finishing last made Regina angry and upset. After saying some hurtful things to London and her sister, Regina storms off. Renita suggests they give Regina some space to calm down but it takes a while as Regina is off taking her anger out on other children. After a while, Regina returns looking rather sad and explains that her crown has lost its stars. Will Regina be able to regain her stars, or will her actions have frightened them away for good?
Regina and Renita and Their Hidden Crowns will make the perfect book for children who are currently acting out. It will help in showing them how their actions affect other people, and how it can affect them as well. This is an important lesson for children and I'm glad Regina and Renita Deloatch chose this topic for their story. The story has been written using rhymes which will allow children to follow along more easily. The illustrations are professional, colorful, and will attract the attention of any young reader. I hope to see more from these incredible authors soon and wish them all the best in their creative journey.
