Radical Enlightenment is an inspirational book with facts and personal experiences provided by Kevin Russell. The book addresses the reality, or the three-dimensional world, we see and explains our relation to energy, frequency, and vibration, even if we are unaware of it. The author begins his story with a poem he wrote at eighteen and analyzes the consequences of his actions. It’s uncommon to hear professions of mindfulness at that age, but it was refreshing. Russell touches on diet and exercise and gives an example of how to “ground” yourself. Radical acceptance is discussed, and the author's experiences are intertwined with information about the ways in which readers can see and understand the world differently.
Radical Enlightenment invites readers to explore themselves, much like deep-sea and space voyagers. Diving into the mind, Kevin Russell challenges his readers not only to eat healthier, more plant-based diets, get “grounded” with nature, and exercise, but he also invites them to think about the vibrations and energy that humans emit, even when they’re asleep. This area may be met with some skepticism, but concrete facts and observations are made throughout the book. It’s certainly enough to consider the ideas Russell proposes instead of outright dismissing them based on personal biases. At times, the book can be technical, but the author moves from foundational concepts and uses illustrations to clarify his points. I recommend the work to anyone who is interested in expanding their knowledge in this area, as it is informative and, at times, motivational.
