Polygamy: Is It a Killer? by Christy 'Seyi Olorunfemi explores the phenomenon of polygamy and how it fuels the spread of HIV/AIDS in Nigerian society and other social and family ills.
While polygamy can be traditionally viewed as an expression of power and wealth, it can have dire consequences for the family unit. In this book, the author discusses the implications of polygamy, the history of HIV/AIDS, and the role that women play in their society. Through research and interviews with women married to polygamous men, the author raises critical questions that will interest not only affected women, but the general public.
