In Pippin’s Space Adventure: A Poodle Called Pippin (Book 5) by Julia Seaborn, Pippin and his best friend Blossom were looking at the sky above them. Pippin fell asleep and woke up in space. Jelly, an alien who had stowed away in a nearby spaceship, invited Pippin inside. They both wanted to see what the big, bright, shiny thing in the darkness was. Space rocks fly around, threatening them and the spaceship they are riding in. Pippin becomes more and more frightened of the bright thing in space as the ship moves closer to it. What is scaring Pippin so badly? Will an asteroid hit the spaceship? Will Pippin ever make it home safe, or is he stuck flying around space?
I absolutely loved Pippin’s Space Adventure: A Poodle Called Pippin. This fast-paced children’s book by Julia Seaborn is a delight and one of my newest favorites. The characters are all different creatures, which makes the space adventure lots of fun. The illustrations by Richard Hoit are beautiful and make this story very entertaining. I do not doubt that kids will love this book and read it for years to come. Aside from the story itself, I especially liked the educational lessons in science that were woven throughout so that kids learn some basics as they read. I recommend this book to young children who are learning to read, especially those who love to read about space and adventurous animals. This book and the series will offer fun reading at bedtime.
