The subject matter of this delightful book is very well written and has such an underlying powerful and positive message. I love the plot where a little puppy has a dream and will not give up until he achieves his goal. I also thought the support he gains every week from his parents and friends is simply brilliant. I think children would gain so much inspiration from this book and there are so many possibilities throughout for children and parents/teachers to have a discussion about the importance of following your dreams in life. The illustrations were simple but really effective and again there were discussion possibilities there too. The female characters were perfect as they played soccer but didn't lose their femininity. This book is going to give small children so much confidence to keep persevering and to never give up at the first hurdle. The printable option at the end of the book is such a great addition.
