Overall, Perdue is a must-read for fans of suspenseful thrillers with well-developed characters and intricate plots, and fans of the Neil Baggio series will adore these Marie-focused mysteries just as much.

She has some help this time as an interesting new face appears to assist her in this task but he may be more of a distraction with his good looks and boyish charm. Charles D'Amico's Perdue has his principal character, a multi-talented femme fatale by the name of Marie, go undercover in a bid to expose the evil agenda of her long-running foe. D'Amico's conversations between his characters are extremely lively with the inclusion of language that adds to the feel of an authentic detective mystery and espionage combination. His storyline appears complicated initially when you take in all the different interests at stake but he does an effective job of explaining the positions of each character in the plot so the reader can easily follow from there. The best part of this novel is the way the author interweaves the violence with the romance like an unusual symphony. D'Amico's use of gripping suspense and intelligent conversation when telling his story molds Perdue into the kind of novel that classic crime enthusiasts will appreciate.
