What does peace mean to me and how do I achieve it? How do I truly gain power over my life and reap the rewards? This brilliantly written book, Peace Power Profits by Gwendolyn Smith, asks those very questions and provides many key insights into answering them. As I read through this book, I found myself reliving some very similar experiences and revelations from my own life as well as getting new perspectives to help me further my journey to finding fulfillment and peace. Sometimes our pursuit of social status or power is what we believe will bring us happiness. We go round and round on the hamster wheel, tirelessly chasing the so-called dream until we find ourselves in a state of exhaustion and hopelessness. I have experienced this exact thing in my own life. I had to take a very honest look at where I was dedicating the majority of my efforts and admit that they were not the things that truly made me happy. I spent so much time trying to figure out what people expected and wanted from me that I forgot to look inward at who I was and what I wanted. It was refreshing to read the author’s own experiences with this and compare the similarities and differences.

I would highly recommend Peace Power Profits not only to those who feel they are struggling but to those that don’t as well. This book touches on so many real scenarios and experiences and may open the eyes of even those readers who think that they have it all figured out. There is no pretense to the author’s recounting of her struggles and the things that were learned from them; just real, raw truth. This is the type of book that a reader does not read just once but one that earns an honored place on the bookshelf as an often-referenced literary guide to life’s struggles. I look forward to reading further works by this author.
