Parents for Sale by Dr. Nicole Audet is a short audiobook that plays along with the children's book of the same name. It starts out with a section about Pistachio called Dog for Sale where the parents tell their children, Luke and Lucy, that they are too tired to keep their dog anymore and they are going to have to sell Pistachio. The children plead with their parents to let them keep their pet, but their parents are adamant in their decision. Luke and Lucy decide that it is a better idea to replace the sign with a 'Parents For Sale' sign and sell them instead because of how much they love Pistachio. This, of course, ends up teaching the children a lesson by the end of the story.
The audiobook itself is amazing, and there is a lot of music and other elements in it (dog's breathing, barking, etc.) that really bring the story to life. It tells you when to turn pages in the storybook, so it is an excellent companion to the book itself for children to read and listen to at the same time. It has full voice acting across the entire family with different voices for each one of the characters, and feels like it has a very high production value. The music matches perfectly to the story, and it quickly draws the reader into the world. Parents for Sale by Dr. Nicole Audet is the perfect companion to the actual book and is a real winner in the audiobook category for families that love entertaining stories. The pictures are fantastic and the story itself is unique and clever. Well done!
