It was supposed to be a simple experiment. Put a couple of human specimens into hibernation for three years and bring them back with a minimum of fuss. Somehow everything went wrong and now O'Connor and Jackson are stuck in a dystopian limbo devoid of men and a good half a century away from their initial due date. It wouldn't be so bad if not for the fact that some members of the ruling society have intentions to return them to sleep permanently - if they have their way. O'Connor and Jackson have to escape before they become lab rats for a maniacal government. Will they succeed? Only time will tell in Anthony C. Robinson's Operation Oversex.
It's a laugh-a-minute in Anthony C. Robinson's work of fiction. The mere thought of an all-female utopia could only be the product of a brilliant mind. The primary characters in the story are relatable, especially Jackson, whose antics and zany ideas had me holding my sides even during moments of distress. The infusion of Orwellian overtones into the story is intriguing and the interaction between the characters is really good. At the risk of sounding chauvinistic, I have to admit I got some satisfaction from Agent Hartley getting her comeuppance. Operation Oversex is a keeper by all standards. Science fiction genre aficionados will love this audiobook.
This audiobook is not just written by Anthony C. Robinson but is also beautifully narrated by him. He uses tonal changes and voice inflection to deliver a range of sounds that added to the feeling of being completely immersed in this weird adventure.
