On Thin Ice by Tara Eldana is the story of a woman who was trying to make sense of her life, trying to come to terms with her trust issues, and basically existing when a handsome man walked into her life. Marinda hasn’t had the best experiences when it comes to any body of water so she makes it her priority to stay as far away from it as possible. She hasn’t had much luck with anything in her life, to be honest, especially love. That doesn’t stop her from having a dream about a handsome man. What shocks her most is the fact that the handsome man is at the airport, right in front of her. She thought she was dreaming, but he assures her that she is not. He is real and she must make the decision to join him where they actually belong. Should Marinda take the plunge and trust a man she only knew in her dreams?
I love a romance that has mystery, suspense and incredible chemistry between the protagonists. This novel had all of these and more in spades. This fast-paced novel is filled with vivid descriptions, an intricate world, and developed characters. I enjoyed the relationship Marinda and Gavin had; they explored it in the most intense and intimate way and gave an inside look to readers. The intense atmosphere added a layer of complexity to the story, made it interesting and allowed me to become fully immersed in the novel. I loved how the author explored the relationship between the protagonists, gave it time to bloom into something beautiful and had the reader enjoy it. Pure entertainment!
