"Now You See Her" by James Patterson and Michael Ledgewood is James Patteson at his best. Jeanine/Nina was a twenty one year old college student on spring break when she met Peter, a police officer. The handsome man appeared to be her rescuer. Upset and drunk Jeanine took her boyfriend's car. When a dog ran in front of the car she swerved to miss it. She did not see the old man until it was too late. She was amazed when the police officer told her to take the car and run, he would take care of the body. In a short time she and Peter were married. However, Peter wasn't the knight in shining armor that he first appeared to be. He had a secret. When Jeanine discovered she was married to a monster, she staged her own death and ran for her life. Over the next 16 years she made a life for herself under the name Nina Bloom. We can never escape our past and eventually Nina's came back to haunt her.
"Now You See Her" is a quick read. The plot is fast paced and filled with action. One of the first things that caught my attention concerning this audio book was the voice of the reader, Elaina Erika Davis. The lilt of her voice was infectious. She added dimension to Jeanine/Nina. Early in the book I figured out the identity of the Jump Killer; however, that did not detract from the suspense of the plot. This book has it all; suspense, danger, romance, and mystery. What more could you ask for?
