No Gravestone Unturned by Debbie De Louise is the fifth book in the Cobble Cove Mystery Series. It’s October and Hallowe’en is fast approaching. Alicia is helping with the library’s Hallowe’en party preparations when she learns that John’s aunt has died and all his cousins are on their way to Cobble Cove for the funeral. After the funeral, a body is found next to John’s grandfather’s headstone, and there’s only one witness – Sneaky, the library cat. As the investigation gets underway, family secrets are unearthed. Is the killer a guest at the inn? Will Alicia and the sheriff solve the crime or is this one down to the cats – Sneaky, Salem, and KittyKat?
No Gravestone Unturned by Debbie De Louise is a fun story that’s easy to read and follow. Although you should read the whole series in order, there is enough backstory in this so you understand the story so far. There are a lot of characters, all nicely developed, and you quickly understand how they all connect to one another. It’s not a fast-paced book but it is steady and has enough action and twists and turns to keep you reading right to the end. The dialogs between the cats were an interesting angle, making this book a little different and adding a twist not seen in many other books in this genre. The story has plenty of mystery to it as we delve into past secrets, and is an enjoyable way to pass a few hours. Recommended for fans of cozy mysteries and those who want to escape the real world for a while.
