The Council is averse to such movements and has murdered in the past to conceal such notions. They have spies everywhere in Neworld and are determined to stop the movement uncovering the truth. Fallon is deemed the historian of Neworld and his task is to draw and document the truth as a matter of history. The people behind the movement plan to spread the truth in Neworld and that is where this first book in the series ends.

K.B. Shaw delivers an impressive story in the form of The Neworld Papers Series 1: The Historian's Tale. The reader can easily identify what the author is trying to portray. The air of mystery and secrecy makes the novel more exciting to uncover. I was instantly drawn to the main character of Fallon as the story was portrayed through his eyes. The concept of Earth forming a new civilization was captivating and drew me further into the ever-thickening plot. The originality behind this novel was superb and the depth that this novel presented was extraordinary. I can recommend this novel to all and I am keen to read the second installment.

Fallon is a young boy coming of age, and he leads a peaceful life in a school called Mount. He is raised as a servant of the school, but he learns his favorite subjects by hiding behind the walls. Fallon has the ability to draw and remember everything that he sees and hears well. Miss Howard, the head of the staff, encourages Fallon to draw but she tells him not to show his drawings to anyone. Fallon is taken one day to the Headmaster's office and sold to Miss Grier, who is the head of the Solarists group that opposes the Council's social and spiritual mandate.

The story is well developed and the character of Fallon also evolves along with the development of the plot. The story is narrated from Fallon's point of view and there is a romantic angle, too, in the course of the story. The imagination of the author will keep readers engrossed and glued to the compelling story. There is a lot happening in the story to keep readers engaged. Fallon's character is very well portrayed and he manages to leave an impression with his special abilities. The imagery is beautiful, making it very visual while reading. I enjoyed the book. It is a refreshing read.
