In my eyes, William G. Boykin is a great American hero. Boykin never wanted to be in the spotlight. However, when he accepted a position offered to him by Donald Rumsfeld, the media sought to destroy his reputation. The evangelical Christian had his faith tested many times over. He was a Delta Force officer and for a short time worked with the CIA. The media particularly, NBC news, took things out of context and fabricated lies to create headlines and to promote their left wing agenda.
Never Surrender follows the career of Boykin from the time he enlisted through his retirement. This brave soldier laid his life on the line for his country only to have his reputation tarnished by Aram Roston, Lisa Myers, and others like them. Boykin shares his story and his faith in Never Surrender. I cannot write this review without expressing my opinion. You see LTG (Ret.) William G. Boykin fought, so that I could have that right. He fought for a free press. How ironic. I believe in a free press, but I do not believe in one that makes up the news for their own agenda. Every American should be stirred by Boykin’s account. Every Christian should bow their knees in prayer for this nation. Okay, off my soapbox.
Boykins faith shines in his account. “It was God I had relied on when I nearly lost an arm in battle. I was God I prayed to when my men went to war. It was God I cried out to when they returned maimed and bleeding. And when they didn’t return at all.”
Never Surrender is well-written. William G. Boykin explains from his point of view, the venture of his military career. The events he describes could well be a novel of fictional political intrigue. However, it is not fiction but the trials he survived. Thank you, William Boykin, for your unselfish sacrifice. Never Surrender should be required reading for all Americans. The right will recognize the significance of this book. The left should burn with shame, but will continue their PC litany.
