Sporty had Bunny Bumps and the doctor had advised her against traveling, participating in any sports activities, and doing anything at all for the next 4 to 6 weeks. Nerdi wondered what she could do to make her sister feel better. Now only she could go to Chew Orleans, much to their disappointment, and Hamilton Shanks, their good friend, was going with her. Nerdi promised to bring her sister lots of treats. Nerdi had never traveled so far away alone but Hamilton was an expert and she was glad he was there. Hamilton was not the typical pig one usually sees. He always watched his diet and was a great lover of history.
Nerdi Bunny and the Big Bayou Gator Grief (Volume 2) by Aisha Toombs is a charming story that speaks about saving the environment and also how to communicate properly when it comes to dealing with a situation. Readers will love Nerdi the bunny and Hamilton the pig. Michael Morris breathes life into them and the story with his wonderful illustrations which also give them and the rest of the characters in the story an identity of their own. The Nerdi Notes at the end of the book are educational and informative. It is a good story for parents and tutors to use for storytelling and read-aloud sessions at home and in classrooms to help youngsters learn about the bayous, how to help each other, how to tackle a situation, and how to communicate properly.
