Mysteries Beyond the Grave by Amy Louise Hill is a collection of two short stories that will keep you on the edge of your seat with excitement. They are suspenseful, exciting, and scary. The first story in the book — Letters — is about someone who moved into a new house and keeps receiving letters from a mysterious person named Jack. Jack explains that he’s a ghost who is trapped in the house and can’t escape. He has unfinished business, but what is it? The second story - Hayley - is about a girl named Charlotte whose friend, named Hayley, was murdered, except they didn’t know who killed her. Then, Charlotte uses an Ouija board and Hayley communicates with her. Hayley spells out the words ‘Lauren’ and ‘secret.’ But after she finds out the secret, Lauren is killed. With two of her friends killed, Charlotte must find out who murdered them, and so she consults the Ouija board.
Mysteries Beyond the Grave by Amy Louise Hill is a great book for someone who enjoys suspense, mystery and terror. Mysteries Beyond the Grave is well written, descriptive, and a real page-turner. You won’t be able to put it down. I think that the author, Amy Louise Hill, put a lot of time into developing likable characters that are also relatable. Both stories were fast paced and neither one ever got boring. They are great to read on the go or by a campfire. The first page hooked me. I would recommend this book to readers aged 10 and up, as it could be too scary for younger audiences. You should definitely read Mysteries Beyond the Grave.
