Andy was surprised when his cousin, Craig, suddenly passed away in an unfortunate accident. More surprises came when Craig made Andy his sole beneficiary. On the surface, it seemed the inheritance only included a run down house, a stripped car, a moped, and empty bank accounts. Andy begrudgingly goes to Mortom with his sister to claim the inheritance, only to be pulled into his cousin's final puzzle to the rest of the inheritance. Problem is, they don't know what they're looking for as each clue reveals not only another clue, but another mystery to Craig's life and background. Mortom by Erik Therme takes you on Andy's bizarre journey from dead rats, to cemetery keys, to overdue books - and beyond.
I'll be honest: I loved this book. In fact, I couldn't put it down! Mortom is the perfect mystery, filled with intrigue, curious characters, family secrets, and all the crazy things that make small town mysteries amazing. Erik Therme does a magnificent job of weaving this complex tale together into an incredible journey that plunges readers into his world. Even the town is amazing as Andy and his sister learn more about themselves, the town, and their family through the strange backstory of Craig's mystery father, and how it impacted so much in their own lives. If you like mystery and suspense that take you on a wild journey, then this is the book for you. It's a great, interesting, and unique mystery tale. I highly recommend it!
