Mommy Pimp by Silver Vixen is a different take-control-of-my-life story. A depressed, soon-to-be-divorced woman, Barbara, faces startling financial constraints and must embark on a completely different career to avoid losing her home, her lifestyle, and caring for her children. Going on a suggestion from her gay friend, Barbara uses her small circle of contacts to set up an escort service, with the help and participation of the “pool boy,” Carlos. Carlos has also reached his limit of tough times and minimal finances, so he embraces a new way of life as a gay escort. This is the story of their start-up experiences, mostly those of Carlos, as he is initiated into the world of gay escorts and encounters different types of clients.
Silver Vixen writes a short and to-the-point book on gay escorts, adding a little kink to spice up the story in a tasteful manner. Although it’s not my usual genre, I enjoyed it. Descriptive in some instances, especially when it came to the new experiences of the gay escort, each scene fitted the story and allowed me, as the reader, to better understand the experiences of the characters. With sufficient background in the beginning, Mommy Pimp provided a springboard for the events in the plot, giving me a good grasp thereof. The ending of the book was quite effective, and I enjoyed the ironic humor of their situation. I believe I gained a little insight into the gay escort industry and broadened my thinking somewhat.
