Minecraft: Diary of a Minecraft Zombie Alex, Book 1: The Witch by MC Steve, MC Alex, Diary Wimpy Series, Wimpy Books, and Noob Steve Paperback is an unofficial Minecraft Diary book. A wicked wizard is working his magic and the zombies have fallen under his spell. Everything has changed and Alex can’t believe it when she wakes up. Alex is a clever and courageous girl, one who always does the right thing, but now she is a zombie. Steve is the only other survivor and it's up to them to find out what happened. As they work to solve the mystery, they find themselves in the company of a kind witch, the witch whose brother is the wicked wizard. She tells Alex that they can become human again, but Steve isn’t interested; he just wants revenge. What will Alex do? Can she fight the wizard and restore the zombies back to human? Or will she choose just to become human again and leave the rest?
This is a great book for kids and young adults alike who are interested in Minecraft, even though this is not an official Minecraft book. I am neither a kid nor a young adult, but I enjoyed this book immensely. It was funny and had a great story to it, one that kids will love, and the illustrations were perfect, really setting the story off. The language used is simple and will be easily understandable to anyone who plays Minecraft – if you don’t play it, do a bit of research first because some of the terms may confuse you. That aside, this is a great story and I would highly recommend it.
